Thirty-Eight is Great

This year for my birthday, all I wanted was to have a relaxing beach day and not cook. And my guys delivered. I was loved on by all my kids, and Chris made sure I felt special. He even made me a Secret Water Special drink for me to sip on while I floated the turquoise waters of Balandra. It had been several months since we'd been to that beach, last time we were there was when we anchored there. It was still just as lovely.

I like this picture. They're my guys.

The next day, I headed to the airport for the next phase of my birthday celebration, a trip to Michigan to see one of my college besties. Jackie and I are kindred spirits, have so many mind boggling things in common, yet are opposites in many others. It was a blessing to visit her and her lovely family in there new digs. They are winemakers, and make some really delicious ones. They've been creating wines in the highly saturated Napa Valley for the last decade and decided to make the jump to Michigan's wine region, Traverse City. There, they will be able to realize their dream of owning and running their own vineyard, tasting room and farm-stand while continuing to keep their Napa label. It is going to be beautiful.

Feeling a little far from Secret Water during our cellar tour knowing it's at Lattitude 24°

How cute are these kids?!

All in all this was a great birthday. Family time, friend time, good food and drinks, flowers and a taste of my favorite season, Fall.
